The most versatile of the water turbines
The multi-purpose Francis turbine is a mid-pressure turbine. Due to its mode of action, this water turbine is ideally suited for power plants with low to medium drop heights (5-300 m) and corresponding flow rates. Depending on the height, Geppert offers these in the form of shaft turbines or spiral turbines – with a vertical or horizontal shaft. Manufactured in compliance with the highest quality standards in the Geppert plant in Hall in Tyrol, from where the turbines are delivered to countries worldwide. The products are constantly being further developed by model tests, which guarantees hydraulic properties of the turbines.
Hydro-Energy: How economical individuality is
The design of the spiral turbine is usually done as a compact turbine – the impeller is mounted on the generator shaft. As a result, the size of the machine house can be reduced to a minimum. Through this 2-bearing arrangement, the use of a clutch or other wearing parts is avoided. In addition to the ecological advantage, this is also economically advantageous – the running costs can thus be kept to a minimum. Each plant by Geppert Hydropower can be customized, fully automated and remotely monitored on request. Based on the design data, net head and amount of water removed each turbine is designed and built individually.
